If you are in search of the best selling electric kettle at a great price, then you should probably consider the Proctor Silex K2070Y 1 Liter Electric Kettle.
This is a 1000-watt electric kettle and as the name suggests, it boils up to 1 liter of water at a time. What I love most about this kettle is the automatic shut off which means that I don’t have to worry about wasted electricity when I am busy working and have the kettle going. Coupled with that, it has a detachable cord which enables me to carry it around to whatever room of the house in which I will be serving my tea. For those of you worried about safety, this kettle’s easy to open lid has a security lock.
Additional advantages that other consumers have cited for this kettle include: the water boils at a pretty hot temperature; it gets hotter quicker than boiling water in the microwave; and, it is simple without any frills.
Some less than positive reviews from consumers include not liking the shortness of the electric wire or the fact that the model does not detach from the base. Overall though, with a retail price of less than $20 and with a 180-day limited warranty, I think this kettle is a steal and deserves its status as the most popular and top selling electric tea kettle.
If you are not convinced about this electric kettle however, I have provided other popular electric tea kettle reviews below:
The second most popular electric tea kettle is the Aroma Hot H20 X-Press 1-1/2-Liter Cordless Water Kettle.
This kettle has a smooth stainless steel exterior, a 360-degree swivel base, dip-free spout, washable spout filter and boils water at a cup-a-minute speed! Advantages of this electric tea kettle are that it is attractive, easy to clean and there is no coil on the inside so you don’t have to worry about build up or rust. Disadvantages cited by consumers are that it can be very loud when boiling and can be very hot to the touch! At over $30, this electric tea kettle is slightly more expensive, but many consumers agree that it is worth the price for the stylish feel.
The third most popular electric tea kettle is the Hamilton Beach Stainless Steel Ensemble Kettle, 10-Cup.
This tea kettle has a stylish stainless steel appearance, 360-degree swivel and drip-free spout. Advantages of this kettle are that it is simple to use and its still quite a few dollars less expensive than some popular brands (retails from about $30 -$35 depending on the retailer). Some consumers, however, have cited issues with the lid breaking off after a few months.
The fourth and final kettle in our review is the T-fal Balanced Living 1-Liter 1750-Watt Electric Mini Kettle.
Interesting features about this small electric tea kettle include an adjustable temperature control, a locking lid, 360-degree rotating base, shiny black plastic surface and a 1 year limited warranty. Consumers love the fact that this kettle heats up water incredibly fast, the temperature can be adjusted and that it is cool to the touch because of its plastic coating. The one negative feature that seems to stand out is that the level indicator can be hard to see. Prices for this spiffy little kettle range from $30 – $50 depending on the retailer.
Overall though, if you are in the market for a fairly inexpensive kettle that works relatively well, we recommend that you go with the Proctor Silex kettle as it is excellent value for money.
